The Key Types Of
Effective Article Outline Templates
There are many types of article outline approaches you could adopt
in article writing, but generally 3 key types, namely the "How to",
the Glossary One Pager, the List.
"How To" Article
Outlines
People love "How to" articles, especially when they are in need to
resolve an existing problem and your topic helps to resolve their
issue. It also helps to brand you as an expert in the particular
subject matter.
The outline will be that of an introduction of the issue or problem, 3 to 4 paragraphs of step by step solution and a conclusion.
Glossary One
Pager
The Glossary One Pager article spells you as the epitome of the
said subject you are discussing. Do not simply paraphrase from your
resource. Write your own glossary whenever possible since you
should be expert in this area. There is great wins for you and your
readers in this approach.
You are immediately deemed as the expert in the subject matter. Readers searching for definitions will find your glossary useful and may book mark it for future reference. This could also generate traffic to your site as you might then be perceived as an expert in the field.
The Glossary outline is a simple one with an Introduction to the subject matter, a broad definition of the term(s) as well as explanations of each term related to the subject matter from chronological order.
The
List
This is the most favored type of article by readers. Every reader
is curious to a certain extent on the "Top 10 List of …", "5 Key
Tactics in guerrilla marketing …", "50 Best Restaurants in
California" and the list (no pun intended) goes on and on.
The List outline also adopts a very simple approach, with the introduction, the benefits of the subject discussed and the list. You have a choice in whether to list in order of importance. You then end with a brief conclusion.
