Description: Denon's S-301
packs high-resolution DVD playback and room-filling sound into a
smart, user-friendly design. This stylish system uses Dolby®
Virtual Speaker technology to produce surround-like audio effects
with just two speakers and a subwoofer. You get remarkably simple
setup and operation, along with some special conveniences — like a
front-panel connection that enables the '301 to play and control
your iPod. This four-piece system is simple to hook up. Since there
are no rear speakers, you don't have to run wire to the back of
your room. Color-coded speaker jacks make for goof-proof
connections. Plus, the speakers come with table stands, or you can
wall-mount them for an elegant, space-saving setup — a perfect
complement to current flat-panel TVs. The '301 can upgrade or
"upconvert" all your DVDs into gorgeous, near-high-definition
video. It sends these pure, all-digital signals to any TV with a
digital video input. You'll love the results — vivid,
natural-looking images from all your favorite films. You can also
enjoy high-resolution music from Super Audio CDs (SACDs) and
DVD-Audio discs. These discs provide lots of sonic detail and
depth, for sound that's even better than regular CDs. This system
also has handy features for people who own a portable MP3 player.
The control center includes front-panel inputs that are compatible
with most players (see "Details" below). It even has an input
specially designed to work with an iPod. Simply connect your iPod
to the control center using the included cable. The '301
automatically displays a menu on your TV that looks and works like
your iPod's screen. Control your player using the system's remote,
listen to your tunes through the system's speakers, or view a
slideshow from your iPod photo on your TV. And since the '301 can
also charge your iPod, you don't have to worry about its battery
running low. The '301's remote control is exceptionally easy to
use. In addition to the DVD player/control center, it can control
your TV, satellite receiver, cable box, VCR, and more. On its top
panel, you'll find the buttons that you'll use most often,
including power, play, and volume control. Flip open a panel on the
back of the remote access additional buttons that you'll use less
frequently. One particularly handy feature is the remote's "Help"
button. Press it to bring up an on-screen menu that tells you what
your choices are based on what type of disc is in the DVD player
and which components are plugged in. Then, simply scroll through
straightforward, intuitive options — "Watch TV," "Watch DVD,"
Listen to radio," "Listen to iPod" — and select the one you want.
It's that easy. Minimize
